Magna 402 Shock Resistant Electrode for Manganese Steel

Magna 402 Shock Resistant Electrode for Manganese Steel is an electrode with an impeccable structure that does not crack, hardens quickly to great depth, and resists extreme shock and impact. It has the following properties:

Magna 402 Shock Resistant Electrode for Manganese Steel
Prepare the weld area by grinding out the affected area. Can be applied over previous weld deposits. AC or DC reversed polarity welding machines can be used. Applications with manganese steel require the lowest possible amperage. Preheating is only necessary in extremely cold outdoor temperatures.
Magna 402 can be applied using stringer bead or weaving techniques. If many deposits are needed, it is advisable to hammer between passes.
On cast iron, apply a first layer of Magna 770 over the entire surface.
Special Note:
Magna 402 welds can be machined, but due to the extremely high work-hardening properties, machining is best performed by reducing the cutting speed and feed rate.
